P3s, this one is for you!

Pharmacy school isn’t easy, but your peers are here to help. Here are words from your classmates who hope to help the class of 2028 figure some things out.

Special Tip ‘N Trick from TPN’s Previous Editor-in-Chief Youssef Arel, Class of 2025:

Don't be afraid to ask questions. Everyone from faculty to your fellow students are there to help you grow and become the best pharmacist you can be.

Tips ‘N Tricks from the Class of 2027, Georgette Afriyie:

Always ask questions. Give yourself grace to understand that you are learning new material at a faster rate. It will require trial and error, but know that you can accomplish anything you set your mind to. Believe in yourself and always study with necessary breaks. It does not need to be for several hours consecutively but this will build your stamina to keep up with the courses within the pharmacy program. The breaks allow for you to retain the information you learned. It is all about balance. Use this year to figure out what works best for you as a student and person. You’ve got this!

See you at the finish line.

Tips ‘N Tricks from the Class of 2025, Zadid Ohie:

Be open to all opportunities from school! Don’t just go to class and go home. Participate in extracurriculars, connect with professors, and learn about as many pharmacy pathways as you can.

Tips ‘N Tricks from the Class of 2025, Muhammad Shafi:

Use an app called “anki.” You can sync and download the app on all your Mac devices. It’s used to make flash cards and allows you to grade each flash card based on how well you know it. Also download the app Tictick, which can be used to keep track of reminders, assignment dates, and most importantly, how long you actually studied by timing each study session you have for an individual class, chapter, or topic, depending on how you title your study session. It uses the Pomodoro method, which I highly recommend to use while studying.

Tips ‘N Tricks from the Class of 2027, Luiza Khassanova:

Discipline, healthy habits, and focus are the three pillars on which you will build a successful and enjoyable academic journey.

Tips ‘N Tricks from the Class of 2027, Aidan Towers:

Study a small amount of information every day (even if just for an hour). Form study groups and have people to lean on to when you need help. Rewrite your notes if the lecture goes by too quickly. Get Quizlet+ to easily study on your commute. Lastly, always put yourself out there (you never know who’s looking for help or how they will help your career).

More tips ‘n tricks from your classmates who are eager to lend a helping hand will be featured in the following month’s edition! Stay tuned.
