Everyone wants to know how to study effectively in pharmacy school. It first requires strategic planning and organization. Our schedules are packed with long lectures, labs, recitations, extracurriculars, and other life responsibilities. Considering this, it would be best to plan out your day so you know what needs to be done in advance. The first thing to do is write down a to-do list in order of due dates and priorities. Invest in a planner so you can write down when exams, assignments, and important events are coming up. Try to stay on top of all assignment and exams by studying and submitting assignments in advance. Another tip would be to create a study schedule in advance. Studying bit by bit until you get through it all will reduce stress, especially before an exam. If you have material that needs memorization, create flash cards that can help you study and review them constantly. Other students also like to create study charts that can aid in memorizing important information. It also helps to set up a distraction-free study space so you can study alone to better understand the material. To test your knowledge, you can reach out to a classmate or form a study group to review. Another important thing to mention is to not be afraid to seek support from your professors. Ask them any questions you may have to clarify doubts. Lastly, prioritize your self-care. Make sure you balance your academics with some personal time. Take some time to eat a nutritious meal, go for a walk, listen to some music, and get sufficient sleep. Taking some time out of studying is not a distraction, rather it’s an investment in your ability to study productively and more efficiently.
