ContraCase presenting to the Sharks and answering questions

LIU Shark Tank is an event that gives groups of students the opportunity to present their pharmacy business ideas to a panel of professional entrepreneurs, who will then offer their advice and constructive criticism. As a whole, the event is meant to promote creativity and professionalism in students as they progress in their careers. The articles below display some of the ideas that were presented at this year’s Shark Tank.

We are ContraCase, and we’re here to help you stay in control, while on the go! Myself, Amanda Kwasny, Hannah Rada, Nina Rocchi, and Marina Yacoub created a Bluetooth phone case meant to store oral contraceptives. The case allows you to sync to our app for notifications and drug information, helping to ensure adherence. The app also gives you the opportunity to connect with a pharmacist via the chat feature for questions regarding adverse effects, missed doses, etc. We had the pleasure of presenting during Profs. Gonzalez and Hodurski’s annual Shark Tank and received great feedback from the Sharks. It was a great learning experience for us and we are thankful to Profs. Gonzalez and Hodurski for this wonderful opportunity. Prof. Hodurski supported us from the very beginning, and we are so grateful for her encouragement that gave us the confidence to present. We’d also like to thank the Sharks for their kind words and most importantly, our peers for their feedback. Our presentation would not have been what it was without the advice of our classmates during recitation!
