My colleagues (Adham Elshair, Muhammad Shafi, and Vladyslav Sernetkyy) and I had the chance to present VaxCare (Healthcare at your doorstep) at Shark Tank. This is a service that allows pharmacies to offer immunizations at patients’ homes. Those that are homebound, such as the elderly and disabled, may not be able to endure lengthy wait times in line. As pharmacists, it’s our responsibility to ease our patients’ burden and ensure they’re up to date on their vaccines. Implementing this service in pharmacies would require travel pharmacists to go from home to home, as patients make appointments for their vaccinations. Participating in Shark Tank was invaluable, providing us with the opportunity to gain insights and to refine our idea for future endeavors. We hope to introduce this service in the future as it would ease our patients’ needs for healthcare services at their doorsteps.
